Justice Minister Michael Keenan is confident of a coalition election victory but concedes the long campaign is testing the patience of voters.

"I think we will be successful," Mr Keenan told 6PR radio on Friday.

He said the Senate voting reforms had led to a longer election campaign but they had been worth it.

"I appreciate we have been trying the patience of the Australian people a little bit," Mr Keenan said.

"I know it's been a long campaign, people have been expressing that sentiment to me I must say."

He believes the Australian people will reward the coalition for having a plan for jobs and growth and knowing what they're doing.

"Particularly in light of great international uncertainty," he said.

The Australian dollar could fall against the US dollar as uncertainty about Britain's next move in Europe drives demand for the US dollar while equity markets are expected to be highly volatile on Friday.

Mr Keenan also said he stood by his comments on Thursday that Labor's candidate for the marginal WA seat of Cowan, counter-terrorism expert Anne Aly, showed poor judgment by helping a controversial self-styled Islamic preacher have his jail sentence reduced.

"What I said was completely factual and I don't have any regrets about it whatsoever," Mr Keenan said.

Dr Aly says the government supported her deradicalisation work with People Against Violent Extremism and that she has been targeted in a "despicable smear campaign".
