Lorde has collected another celebrity trophy by being famous enough to be the inspiration for a Muppet puppet.
The customised Lorde Muppet, made by The Muppet Studio to coincide with the release of the Muppets Most Wanted movie, is being auctioned on the New Zealand online site Trade Me to raise money for the Starship Foundation.
The Lorde Muppet has big hair, a black mesh jumper and a blue nose.
It has attracted 84 bids so far, and the price exceeding $NZ1500 ($A1382.80). The auction closes on April 20.
The New Zealand singer gave permission for the 33cm-high Muppet to be created and only one has been made, according to replies to questions on the online auction site.
The puppet continues a Kiwi connection to the movie. Bret McKenzie from the New Zealand comedy duo Flight of the Conchords is music supervisor for the movie and his comedy partner Jermaine Clement is appearing as a Gulag prisoner whom Kermit meets when he is mistaken for a Russian criminal.
McKenzie won an Oscar in 2012 for best original song for Man Or Muppet from the 2011 film The Muppets.
Lorde is currently on tour in the United States. She is performing this weekend at the celebrated Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.
The Grammy award-winning 17-year-old singer-songwriter has been nominated for 12 Billboard Music Awards.
