Lucky escape for driver stuck on SA tracks

A driver who was five times the legal alcohol limit has had a lucky escape after his car became stuck on train tracks and was hit by a train.

A drunk driver whose car became stuck on tracks in the Adelaide Hills has had a lucky escape, managing to escape before a train hit his car.

South Australia police charged the 38-year-old man on Saturday with drink driving after he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.19.

The train drivers were not injured, and a crane was used to remove the wreckage from the line at Balhannah.
