In a case of brains before brawn, Scarlett Johansson's new sci-fi flick Lucy has dominated the Australian box office in its opening weekend, pushing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Hercules into second place.
Written and directed by Luc Besson (The Fifth Element), Lucy debuted with $4.66 million, according to the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia.
Meanwhile, action movie Hercules, directed by Brett Ratner, took second place with $1.473 million.
Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie, based on the popular sitcom, remained steady in third, as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes fell two spots to fourth.
Also on the downslide was the Cameron Diaz comedy Sex Tape, which fell one place to fifth, along with Eric Bana's paranormal flick Deliver Us From Evil and the Clint Eastwood-directed Jersey Boys, which dropped a rung each to come in at sixth and eighth on the ladder respectively.
Making its debut in No.7, was A Most Wanted Man, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman in one of his final film roles.
Sequel How To Train Your Dragon 2 flew up one spot to ninth, while another newcomer, Australian film These Final Hours, opened at No.10.
