Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks appears to have played his last NRL game of 2014 after straining his hamstring in Thursday night's loss to Canterbury.

The club on Friday said Brooks had suffered a grade one strain and will need two to three weeks to recover.

With the Tigers no chance of making this year's finals, they only have two matches of the regular season remaining - against Canberra next Saturday and Cronulla on September 6 - leaving Brooks little time to make a return.

The 19-year-old's injury came on the back of a superb 90-metre try in the second-half of Thursday's 30-10 defeat at ANZ Stadium.

It was his sixth try of the season, his first as a full-time first-grader.
