Luke hopeful shoulder will heal

Issac Luke's reputation as a rapid healer will undergo another examination after dislocating his shoulder during the Warriors' quelling of the Wests Tigers.

If it was anyone but Issac Luke, the Warriors might be resigning themselves to being without a key player for the next handful of weeks.

But the man who knows x-rays better than anyone in the NRL gives himself a fair chance of shaking off another dislocated shoulder and being fit to face the Sydney Roosters next week.

Luke and Shaun Johnson will both undergo scans on Sunday after failing to finish their rousing 26-4 win over the Wests Tigers.

The state of Johnson's left ankle has Warriors management worried but Luke says they shouldn't fret about a right shoulder he has dislocated previously.

"This (sling) makes it look worse than it is but we'll see," Luke said.

"I'm best friends with the medical staff at the moment."

Luke wasn't expected to face the Tigers but he shrugged off a knee injury which was originally meant to sideline him for a month.

"The doctor's diagnosis was a bit gangster," Luke said.

The veteran Kiwis hooker, who has strapped both shoulders every game for the last eight seasons, tried unsuccessfully to pop the protruding back into place moments after mis-timing a tackle on David Nofoaluma.

It was eventually done for him back in the shed.

Mason Lino will be on standby to replace Johnson, having done an able fill-in job earlier in the season.

However, Johnson's value can't be understated, providing the key link in a lethal Warriors right edge attack which shredded the Tigers numerous times.

Meanwhile, another Kiwis halves contender for next month's Test against England in Denver endured a night to forget.

Tigers co-captain Benji Marshall admits he was subdued as the Warriors hogged possession.

He hopes it won't dent his prospects of a Test return when the Kiwis face England in Denver next month, reiterating his desire to end six years in the international wilderness.

"I've got to play good enough first," he said.
