An autistic boy who miraculously survived five days lost in harsh Victorian bush has been released from hospital.

Luke Shambrook, 11, was found exhausted, dehydrated and suffering hypothermia at Lake Eildon National Park on Tuesday, three kilometres from where he went missing on Good Friday.

He was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) to recover and remained there in a stable condition.

A RCH spokeswoman on Sunday told AAP Luke had gone home, but wasn't able to say when he had left the hospital.
