Luke Ronchi back in Black Caps mix

Wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi has returned from injury and has been named in the Black Caps Twenty20 and ODI squads to take on South Africa.

Luke Ronchi will make his return from injury in New Zealand's one-off Twenty20 against South Africa at Eden Park on Friday.

Former Australia and Western Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Ronchi also features in the Black Caps' ODI squad named on Sunday.

As expected, the 14-strong T20 squad is missing Ross Taylor, although the veteran batsman has been named in the ODI squad.

However allrounder Colin Munro has been dropped for the five-match ODI series which begins next Sunday in Hamilton, and will play only in the T20.

Munro is the only omission from the squad which downed Australia this month and his absence will allow Jimmy Neesham to bat further up the order, according to selector Gavin Larsen.

Ronchi missed New Zealand's 2-0 Chappell-Hadlee ODI series win over Australia with a groin injury.

Larsen said it was pleasing to have Ronchi back in the limited overs mix.

"He's the number one white-ball wicketkeeper in the country and brings considerable experience to the group," he said.

Twenty20 squad: Kane Williamson, Corey Anderson, Trent Boult, Tom Bruce, Lockie Ferguson, Colin de Grandhomme, Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, James Neesham, Luke Ronchi, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Ben Wheeler.

ODI squad: Williamson, Boult, Neil Broom, Ferguson, de Grandhomme, Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Neesham, Ronchi, Santner, Sodhi, Southee, Ross Taylor.
