Henrik Lundqvist made 40 saves and the New York Rangers beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-1 on Monday to take a 2-0 lead in their NHL Eastern Conference final series.
New York have won five consecutive National Hockey League games after falling behind 3-1 in their second-round series against Pittsburgh.
The best-of-seven conference final series heads back to New York. The next two games will be played at Madison Square Garden, with game three set for Thursday.
Ryan McDonagh, Martin St Louis and Rick Nash all scored for the Rangers, who had two assists from Derek Stepan at the Bell Centre arena.
Montreal will have to try to climb back into the series without starting goaltender Carey Price, who went down with an injury in game one and will miss the rest of the series.
Price was replaced by Dustin Tokarski, who allowed three goals on 30 shots in his playoff debut.
Max Pacioretty scored the goal for the Canadiens.
