Luther King biopic to be produced by Oprah

Oprah Winfrey will reportedly produce Selma, a biographical movie about civil rights leader Martin Luther King, the Los Angeles Times reports

The movie concentrating on King's 1965 voting rights campaign will be directed by Ava DuVernay and distributed by Paramount, according to the report.

Winfrey received the script from DuVernay, who rewrote Selma in July according to DeadlineHollywood.com.

DuVernay won best director at the Sundance Film festival for her 2012 drama Middle of Nowhere according to imdb.com.

David Oyelowo who starred in Lee Daniels' the Butler will play King, according to the Los Angeles Times.
