Lynas amends loans from Japanese

Lynas Corp has amended the conditions of its loan from Japanese investors.

Troubled rare earths miner Lynas Corporation has renegotiated a $US225 million ($A243.44 million) loan with Japanese backers.

Under the loan restructure with two Japanese firms, Lynas will make a series of repayments, with the final $105 million due in June 2016.

Lynas, whose products are used in a range of hi-tech products, said at will also soon release details of an equity raising underwritten by investors.

It announced its revised loan repayment arrangements with the Japanese lenders after the Australian share market closed on Wednesday.

The company said the rearrangement would ensure it strengthened its commitment to supply Japan's rare earths market as well as providing a stable platform for its business.

Interest on the loan will be a fixed seven per cent.

Lynas said the equity raising would be underwritten by investors specialising in the energy and industrial sectors.

"Lynas is very pleased to confirm the above agreed terms and continuing commitment to building a stable supply of quality rare earths products for Japanese firms operating in the high-growth, technology leading energy efficient sector," the company said in its statement.
