Felix Magath has ruled out a coaching job at relegation-threatened Hamburger SV.
Magath told a panel discussion it "made sense" to turn down the job "because nothing has moved forward" at the Bundesliga club.
Hamburg have never been relegated in the Bundesliga's 51-year history but they are next-to-last after losing six straight games under coach Bert van Marwijk.
Members of Hamburg's board want Magath to return to the club as manager and coach but the former Hamburg star broke off talks.
Magath led Hamburg to European glory as a player and twice coached at the club. Magath has not coached since leaving Wolfsburg in October 2012.
