Magpies look to Lou for AFL inspiration

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has shown a Lou Richards video tribute to his players as they prepare for Saturday's clash against Greater Western Sydney.

Collingwood have looked to club great Lou Richards for inspiration as they attempt to turn their faltering AFL season around.

Coach Nathan Buckley showed a video tribute to Richards to his players on Tuesday morning after the 250-game player and 1953 premiership captain passed away on Monday.

"It's a pretty good example to use ... you've got a guy who's diminutive and didn't have a lot of athletic traits, but just did it on guts and will and because he wanted it more than others did. It's a pretty good lesson for us all," Buckley said.
