Collingwood key defender Darcy Moore may have to wait another week for his AFL recall, regardless of West Coast's changes.
The Eagles will regain star forwards Josh Kennedy, Jack Darling and Mark LeCras for Sunday's big clash against the Magpies at the MCG.
Moore is among five additions to Collingwood's squad but will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness.
Collingwood could do with Moore, especially given Lynden Dunn is out for the rest of the season with a knee reconstruction.
They took a shorter backline into last Sunday's win over Essendon.
But coach Nathan Buckley said their own needs, not what the Eagles throw at them, will decide what Collingwood do with Moore.
He has been out of action since round eight with a hamstring injury and made a strong return last weekend in the VFL.
"He's still got to get through another session (on Saturday) and we have to decide that we want to pull the trigger on him," Buckley said.
"We're not looking over the fence too much at this stage.
"We have to make decisions based on where we're at and where we need to go, where Darcy's at and where he needs to go.
"If I had to say we're going one way or another, it's probably more about our medium-term progress and making sure we get that right, rather than putting all our eggs in one basket for round 17."
Callum Brown, Travis Varcoe, Sam Murray and Adam Oxley also were added to their squad for Sunday.
Collingwood's injury problems are easing, with Alex Fasolo, Jamie Elliott, James Aish and Jarryd Blair able to take part in Thursday night's match simulation.
Their VFL team has a bye this weekend.
"All of them will come back through the VFL, I suspect, whether that's in a week or two weeks," Buckley said of the returning stars.
Flynn Appleby is Collingwood's latest hamstring casualty, but Buckley is optimistic that Will Hoskin-Elliott will play.
Hoskin-Elliott suffered a nasty knock to his knee against the Bombers and it looked initally that he would definitely miss some games.
But he might have dodged a bullet and trained on Thursday.
"The likelihood is he'll play, but we'll run that all the way to the line if we need to," Buckley said.
Mason Cox had light duties at Thursday training, but Buckley said he will play against the Eagles.
While Collingwood have risen to second on the ladder thanks to a seven-game winning streak, their coach has tempted fate.
Buckley has shaved off the beard that he grew in the last few weeks.
"It's time had come - it wasn't getting enough clearances or contested possessions, so we had to move on," he joked.
"We'll be right."
