Man arrested for using child to sell drugs

A 34-year-old man was spotted by police using a child, believed to be five years old, to collect money in drug transactions.

A man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly used a child to help him sell heroin in Sydney.

The 34-year-old was allegedly seen by police from Kings Cross Local Area Command supplying heroin to a man on five occasions between December 1 and 5 in the Woolloomooloo area.

He allegedly used a child aged about five years old to collect the money in three of the transactions.

The man was arrested by police around 8am on Tuesday at a home on Dowling Street and taken to Kings Cross police station, where he was charged with the ongoing supply of a prohibited drug, supplying a prohibited drug, and procuring a child under the age of 16 years to take part in the supply of a prohibited drug.

He has been refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday.
