A man has been arrested over a killing at a Crown Casino hotel.
Elias Herodotou, 28, was arrested on Friday afternoon and will be interviewed over the killing of Darren John Webb, 40, in an eighth floor room of the Crown Metropol early on Sunday morning.
Detectives named the Coburg man as a person of interest in the case on Thursday and had been pleading for him to hand himself in.
Herodotou was found at a home in Malvern East about 3pm on Friday, just hours after police revealed he was not co-operating with negotiations.
He has not been charged but will now be interviewed by detectives.
A Crown employee says staff have heard unconfirmed reports that Webb was found with multiple syringe stab wounds to his neck.
Detective acting Senior Sergeant Mark Hatt said on Thursday they believed Herodotou had been at the hotel on the evening before Mr Webb died.
Police have previously said that at least two other people may have been inside the hotel room when Mr Webb was killed.
There are unconfirmed reports Herodotou and Webb may have become involved in a fight over a girl, or room service charged to a credit card.
It is also believed Herodotou may have contacted a lawyer on Sunday night.
Crown Casino says it can't comment while a police investigation is underway.
