Man attacked with machete in NSW robbery

Three men armed with a machete and a crow bar held up a club on the NSW mid-north coast, struck an employee on the arm and stole a large amount of cash.

A man is undergoing surgery on his arm after being attacked with a machete during an armed robbery on the NSW mid-north coast.

Three men armed with the machete and a crow bar entered a recreation club on The Lakes Way just as it was closing soon after 10pm on Sunday.

Three employees were forced back inside, before one, a 28-year-old man, was struck on the arm with the machete, police said.

The robbers stole a large sum of cash from the safe, ATM and poker machines, tying up the workers with cable ties before stealing a car and escaping.

The injured man was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he is undergoing surgery.
