Man believed run over in Sydney's south

A man whose body was found on a street in Sydney's south may have been run over by a garbage truck, police say.

A man whose body was found on a street in Sydney's south is believed to have been run over by a garbage truck.

Emergency services were called to Burns Lane in Caringbah at about 5am (AEDT) on Friday on reports the man had been struck by a truck.

Police said the man, aged in his 40s, died at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured, but taken to hospital to undergo mandatory blood and urine testing.
