A man who allegedly prompted a five-hour emergency and explosions on a Brisbane highway will face court.
Police say they stopped the man's vehicle about 8pm (AEST) on Friday during a routine patrol on the Ipswich Motorway at Wacol, and discovered suspicious devices and chemicals inside.
An emergency was declared two hours later and not revoked until shortly after 3am when specialist police set off three controlled detonations.
On Saturday morning a 30-year-old was charged with offences including possessing dangerous drugs, manufacturing explosives, failing to correctly store explosives, unauthorised transport of explosives and assuming the designation or description of a police officer.
He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Saturday.
