Man charged after woman stabbed in Qld

A woman has suffered multiple stab wounds at a southeast Queensland property where police arrested a man who has been charged with attempted murder.

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed multiple times at a property at Beenleigh in southeast Queensland.

Police were called to the residence at around 10pm on Friday to find the 21-year-old woman lying in the front yard with stab wounds to her chest, abdomen and arm.

She was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a serious condition.

Police said a man was arrested at the scene following a violent struggle with officers who used a Taser but to little effect.

He was eventually taken into custody after officers managed to apply handcuffs.

Two officers sustained grazing and bruising during the struggle.

A 24-year-old man was remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with attempted murder, assaulting police and assaulting a public officer performing an official function.
