Man charged for crash that killed NSW teen

A Wollongong man has been charged over a crash that killed a 15-year-old girl in the NSW central tablelands in June.

A 24-year-old man allegedly driving a 4WD that crashed in a NSW forest and killing a teenage girl, has been charged with dangerous driving.

The accident occurred on the June long weekend in the Lowes Mount State Forest near Oberon.

A group of four young friends from Wollongong were driving in the forest at about midnight on June 7 when the vehicle left the trail and rolled, police said.

A 15-year-old girl was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

A 20-year-old male suffered serious head and abdominal injuries, while a 21-year-old and the driver were not seriously hurt.

Police charged the driver in Wollongong on Monday with three offences - dangerous driving occasioning death; dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and driver not disclose identification of passenger.

He has been granted bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on August 26.
