Man charged over lengthy Brisbane siege

A man has been charged over a nine-hour siege at an apartment in the inner-Brisbane suburb of Bowen Hills.

A man will face court after allegedly sparking a lengthy siege at an inner-Brisbane apartment.

He was taken into custody on Friday morning after police decided to enter the unit in Jeays Street, Bowen Hills, to end the nine-hour stand-off.

It's alleged the 44-year-old had made a threatening phone call to the police the night before and claimed to have a hostage and guns.

He's been charged over the incident and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.
