Queensland police have charged a Brisbane man over the murder of a missing Gold Coast spiritual counsellor.
Police revealed their fears on Friday that Hugo Bonham, a self-described "divine transformational facilitator", had been killed and disposed of after not being seen since early February.
Mr Bonham was last seen on the night of February 2 as he visited his son at Southport, on the Gold Coast.
He spoke by phone to a bank on the following day as he went about buying a property on the Gold Coast.
But he failed to turn up to an appointment with a real estate agent on that day, which prompted them to contact his Gold Coast-based sister who then reported him missing on February 6.
Police charged the 35-year-old man with one count of murder on Monday afternoon.
He will face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Police are continuing investigations to locate Mr Bonham's remains.
