Man charged over toddler drowning death

A Queensland man has been charged with manslaughter over the drowning death of a four-year-old boy.

A man has been charged with manslaughter following the drowning death of a toddler in Queensland.

Clinton Troy Pearse, 32, faced Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with one count of manslaughter.

Pearse was arrested following an investigation into the death of a four-year-old boy in Gayndah last February.

Police media refused to reveal whether Pearse is related to the boy.

No application for bail was made by Pearse on Thursday and he has been remanded in custody.

The matter returns to court on April 17.
