Man charged over Vic tram fracas

A man has been charged after a tram passenger was threatened with scissors in an incident aboard a peak-hour tram in Melbourne.

A passenger has been threatened by a man armed with scissors aboard a peak-hour Melbourne tram.

Police say the man boarded the light rail service at Albert Park on Wednesday morning, stood in a doorway behaving erratically and repeatedly kicked a myki ticket machine.

He allegedly threatened a passenger with scissors before getting off at a platform.

South Melbourne police arrested the man after convincing him to drop the scissors.

The 35-year-old from Footscray has been charged with assault with a weapon, criminal damage and riotous behaviour.
