Man charged with attempted murder in Qld

A man will face Brisbane Magistrates Court on an attempted murder charge after a woman was treated in hospital for knife wounds, police said.

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman received knife wounds at a Queensland property.

Police allege the man assaulted the woman at a Fairland Street address in Mount Gravatt East about 2pm on Monday before driving off in a car with two young children.

The woman was treated in Princess Alexandra Hospital for injuries to her throat and hand, which are not believed to be life threatening, while the man and two children were located at Kopps Road, Oxenford about 4.15pm.

Neither child was physically injured.

A 33-year-old Mount Gravatt East man has been charged with various offences, including attempted murder, assault occasioning bodily harm and two counts of endangering children by exposure.

He is expected to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
