Man critical after Sydney cliff fall

A man remains in a critical condition after falling from a cliff on Sydney's northern beaches while running from police.

A man who fell from a cliff while being pursued by police on Sydney's northern beaches remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Officers attempted to pull over a vehicle in Narraweena in the early hours of Friday and when the car failed to stop, a pursuit commenced.

The 22-year-old driver then stopped his car and ran into bushland near Dee Why and a short time later they found the man at the bottom of a cliff.

He was treated for major traumatic injuries to his chest and abdomen and remains at Royal North Shore Hospital fighting for life.
