A man charged with murdering Canberra woman Daniela D'Addario will remain behind bars.

Josaia Vosikata, 27, was formally charged with killing the 35-year-old woman shortly before he appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday.

Police arrested Vosikata after a woman's body, believed to be that of Ms D'Addario, was found in the boot of a car on the NSW south coast on Wednesday night.

Officers located Vosikata after he was spotted hiding in bushland near Bermagui on Thursday afternoon.

Vosikata did not apply for bail in his brief court appearance after being extradited to Canberra from Batemans Bay.

Police also sought more time for forensic analysis.

Vosikata is scheduled to reappear in court on May 8.
