Man dies in single vehicle crash in Qld

The Bruce Highway was closed for several hours following a truck crash in which a 45-year-old Plainland man died.

A 45-year-old man has died after his semi-trailer overturned in central Queensland.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, from Plainland, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Initial information indicates the semi-trailer was travelling north on the Bruce Highway when it overturned for unknown reasons about 25km north of Marlborough at about 7.30pm (AEDT) on Tuesday.

The Bruce Highway was closed for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

The Capricornia District Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident, but anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
