Man dies in three-truck Sydney smash

A man has died after his truck collided head-on with another semi-trailer on the Hume Highway in Sydney's west.

A truck driver has died after three semi-trailers were involved in a crash on the Hume Highway in Sydney's west.

The accident occurred just after 9.30am on Monday at Ingleburn and closed the highway in both directions.

Two of the three semi-trailers collided head-on, police say.

The driver of one of the trucks was thrown from the cabin of his truck and died at the scene.

He has yet to be identified.

The other two truck drivers were not hurt but were taken to hospital for blood and urine tests.

A 4WD near the trucks when the accident happened was also damaged and its female driver was taken to hospital suffering shock.
