Man dumps 11,700 beer cans on same street

A man has been fined for dumping thousands of beer cans on the same Melbourne street over the past 18-months.

A beer chugging litter bug has dumped almost 12,000 empty beer cans on the same Melbourne street over the past 18-months.

Shopping bags of beer cans were dumped on the Mulgrave Street each week-day between 7.30am and 7.40am, a police spokeswoman says.

A man was caught and fined after frustrated neighbours staged a surveillance operation, notifying police of his car registration.
