A 26-year-old driver who's under police guard in hospital is facing 13 charges over a fiery eight-vehicle Good Friday crash that killed a teenage Uber passenger in Sydney's southwest and seriously injured four others.
Police believe the 26-year-old man was speeding in his Commodore car before it veered into oncoming traffic on Friday evening at Woodbine, causing the "unbelievable" smash that involved seven other vehicles.
A 17-year-old boy travelling in an Uber was killed and five others were taken to hospital.
Friends of the teen, named in media as Blake Feeney, have turned to social media to honour their "best mate".
"R.I.P to one of the best mates I could ever ask for. See ya one day my bruv. Blake feeney" wrote one on Facebook.
"Rest in peace blake cant believe this happened I'm broken cant believe your (sic) gone too soon," wrote another.
