Man grabs child in front yard of NSW home

A young girl has been grabbed by the arm in her front yard in far north-eastern NSW by a man.

A man grabbed a nine-year-old girl in her front yard before she escaped and ran into her home, in far north-eastern NSW.

The girl was alone on the front lawn in Murwillumbah on Wednesday evening when a man crossed from the opposite side of the road and grabbed her by the arm, police said.

She managed to pull away and ran inside, and the man fled.

He's been described as being in his late teens to early 20s, about 185cm tall and of a thin build.

He was wearing a white woollen hooded jumper with the hood pulled over his head and grey track pants.
