Man in court over building site assault

The first person to be arrested by a task force attached to the royal commission into trade unions has faced court in Brisbane.

A union member has faced court in Brisbane over allegations he assaulted a female construction site owner.

Justin William Steele, 42, appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with two counts of common assault after an alleged altercation with the construction site owner last month.

The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union member is the first to be arrested by a police taskforce attached to the royal commission into trade unions.
