A 42-year-old man is in custody after a lengthy stand-off with police in Brisbane.

An emergency situation was declared around a Windsor property shortly before 6am, with police called to the unit complex at about 4am on Sunday.

This was revoked almost three hours later after the man was taken into custody.

Police say he was armed with a replica hand gun and refusing to leave the property before he was detained.

No one was hurt in the incident and an exclusion zone that had been placed around the area has since been lifted.
