Man in hospital after NSW roof siege

A man is under police guard in hospital after specialist negotiators were brought in to end a rooftop siege at Lake Macquarie.

A man is expected to be charged after a rooftop siege at a home at Lake Macquarie near Newcastle ended with him being treated in hospital.

It's alleged the 30-year-old man, wanted on outstanding warrants, made numerous threats and threw tiles at police on the street in the suburb of Boolaroo.

He climbed onto the roof just before midnight on Sunday and climbed down at 2.25am on Monday after negotiations.
