A vehicle crashed into the man at about 9.15am on Sunday in Allenby Gardens, police say.

The electric wheelchair and vehicle were travelling in the same direction at the time.

The 75-year-old man in the wheelchair, of Allenby Gardens, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a critical condition, but died shortly after.

South Australia's road toll stands at 57, up from 54 at the same time last year.
