Man loses teeth as he bites attacker

A Gold Coast man who bit his attacker has lost three teeth in the process.

A Gold Coast man who clamped his teeth around an attacker's thumb has had three of his teeth ripped out.

Police say two men, armed with a fake gun, went to the victim's Southport home on Sunday night.

The victim let the men inside but the scene quickly turned violent.

The resident was assaulted and threatened, and responded by biting one of the offenders on the thumb.

"As the guy has pulled his hand away, three teeth have been pulled out," police told AAP.

The victim was taken to hospital with facial injuries, including the lost teeth.

Police are still looking for the bandits, one with a very sore thumb, who stole the man's wallet and phone.
