Man shot in Canberra drive-by attack

A man was shot and wounded in one of three drive-by shootings in Canberra which have been linked to outlaw bikie gangs

A man has been shot and wounded in the latest of a series of bikie-related drive-by shootings in Canberra.

The 36-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries when a gunman opened fire on his home in the suburb of Stirling about 10pm on Thursday night.

He was treated at Canberra hospital.

That was the second of three shooting incidents in Canberra overnight.

In the first about 9.50pm, the window to a home in the suburb of Kambah was damaged. No one was home at the time.

Police said a silver Mitsubishi Outlander 4WD was spotted at both locations.

The third incident occurred in the suburb of Florey when a shot was fired at a house about 5.15am Friday morning. Two people at home were not hurt.

Police said a blue Ford Falcon or similar vehicle was sighted nearby at that time.

ACT deputy chief police officer Justine Gough said all three incidents were related to outlaw motorcycle gangs.

They follow a series of shooting incidents in Canberra last month also linked to motorcycle gangs.

"While we have seen a recent increase in firearm-related incidents this year, all incidents have been targeted attacks and not random," she said in a statement.

These attacks stemmed from "issues" between the parties, and detectives have made significant progress in their investigations, she said.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1900 333 000.
