Man stabbed at Sydney boarding house

A man has suffered head and body injuries after he was stabbed at a boarding house in Sydney's inner west.

A man is in a critical condition after he was stabbed at a boarding house in Sydney's inner west.

Emergency services were called to the Queen Street Lodge in Ashfield at about 8.20pm on Sunday after reports a resident had been stabbed.

The 38-year-old suffered head and body wounds and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

Another man, also believed to be a resident of the boarding house, has been taken to Burwood Police Station where he is assisting police with their inquiries.

An employee of the Queen Street Lodge said police were still at the scene.
