Man survives 17-storey fall from building

A 23-year-old man has survived a 17-storey fall in South America.

Security footage has captured the shocking moment a 23-year-old man plummited to the ground after an acccidental fall off a 17-storey building in Chile.

The man reportedly fell out of the 17th floor of a balcony of a residential building last Saturday morning in the central Chilean city of Rancagua at 8:30 am local time.

After falling 40 metres, Reyes landed on the roof of a parking unit and fell through to the ground. His condition was critical, but he's been released by the Rancagua Regional Hospital with fractures in his pelvis and femur.

The haunting images from the fall were caught by security cameras at the Torres de Alameda building complex.

He is now using a wheelchair to get around and appeared to be in good spirits.
