More than 40 youths from refugee or orphaned backgrounds in Sydney's West have been given a one-off opportunity to train with Manchester United's twin stars Rafael and Fabio Da Silva.

Manchester United defender Rafael Da Silva says he's enjoyed the experience.

"We see the kids you know. We just get energy with these kids so we enjoy coming here," Mr Silva says.

Former United Captain Bryan Robson says it's been a good feeling to give back to the youth.

"The lads really enjoy doing this thing because they know how lucky they are to have the career that they have. And it's always nice to give something back to the community."

Ahmed Thafer, a youth leader from Football United, a community organisation that promotes football for socially disadvantaged kids, says the opportunity is a dream come true.

"It's a really good experience, it's a good scene here and it's good to promote Football United."

The training session was organised by UNICEF to highlight its work helping orphans and refugee children assimilate into everyday life.
