Manly prop Lloyd Perrett has opened the door on the uncertainty surrounding Sea Eagles players amid Trent Barrett's fallout with management.
Contracted until the end of next year, Perrett is closely monitoring Barrett's situation as he considers what his own NRL future.
Senior Sea Eagles players met with chief executive Lyall Gorman earlier this week to discuss the club's direction, where star fullback Tom Trbojevic said players remained in support of Barrett.
But others say they are yet to hear from management, and are only relying on Barrett's insistence that he is there until he tells them otherwise.
"If a new coach comes in and he says he doesn't want me, then I'm looking for work," Perrett said.
"The same thing if he does want me, I'm staying.
"It will affect all those boys who are off contract this year and next year ... the way the game is, anyone with a contract."
How in the dark some players are became evident on Wednesday when Perrett revealed part of the reason he wasn't across the matter was because some articles were behind a newspaper paywall.
"It would be good if we knew what was going on because you hear all the stuff," he said.
"We haven't heard from (Lyall) as far as that matter. Baz (Barrett) speaks on behalf of the club. That's what Baz is telling us, he said just focus on your jobs and win games."
Meanwhile fellow Manly prop Jack Gosiewski revealed he'd re-signed with the club on a one-year deal last week.
"I changed clubs when I came here because of Trent. He's been good to me all year so it would be sad to see him go," said Gosiewski, who joined the club from South Sydney this season.
