Manly to play Roosters on March 28

Details of the 2014 NRL draw have come to light with a grand final rematch on March 28 and three blockbuster matches in round one.

The NRL grand final rematch between Manly and the Roosters will be a fourth round, Friday night clash to be played on March 28 at Allianz Stadium.

News Corp Australia released extracts of the 2014 draw, which will be officially unveiled on Wednesday.

The first round has three major fixtures: Souths v Roosters, Brisbane v Canterbury and the Sea Eagles v Melbourne.

This year only one Thursday night game will be played in the early rounds of the competition, with another three scheduled later in the season.

There will be no 2pm kick-offs in the first four rounds to alleviate concerns over heat.

In round seven on Good Friday, the Rabbitohs will play the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium while in round five's heritage round Souths take on St George Illawarra on a Saturday night at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Souths appear to have a brutal start with a round two clash with the Sea Eagles, who upset the Bunnies to move into the 2013 decider.

New Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has a tough assignment in the first round with the Raiders heading to Townsville for a Saturday night game against North Queensland.
