Manly's Waddell facing two-game NRL ban

Manly's Corey Waddell is facing a two-game NRL suspension after being charged with striking Penrith's Liam Martin.

Waddell will miss the Sea Eagles' next two NRL clashes against North Queensland and Gold Coast if he submits an early guilty plea to a grade one striking charge.

He risks being rubbed out for three weeks should he plead not guilty and lose at the judiciary.

The rookie forward was charged by the match review committee after an incident in the first half of the Sea Eagles' 15-12 loss to Penrith on Thursday.

After taking offence at a tackle by Martin, in which he was slung to the ground, Waddell grabbed the Panthers forward by the collar and their heads came together.
