Manning signs $A118m NFL deal

Quarterback Eli Manning has signed on for four more years with the NFL's New York Giants in a deal worth $US84 million ($A118.64 million).

Quarterback Eli Manning has signed a four-year, $US84 million ($A118.64 million) contract extension with the NFL's New York Giants.

The Giants announced the deal with the two-time Super Bowl MVP on Friday, two days before their season opener in Dallas.

Manning, 34, is now under contract through the 2019 season.

The deal will make him the NFL's fourth highest-paid quarterback with an average salary of $US21 million.

Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers is the highest paid with a $US22 million annual salary, followed by Seattle's Russell Wilson and Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger.

Manning was to earn $US17 million base salary this season in the final year of his current contract.

"I'm obviously excited knowing I'll be a Giant for a long time," Manning said.

"This is where I got started and where I want to finish.

"My goal is to earn this contract and do my best and keep trying to win championships for the Giants."
