Man's body found in NSW river

Water and local police along with SES volunteers are searching for a man missing along the Landsdowne River on the NSW mid-north coast.

A body found in a river on NSW's mid-north coast is believed to be that of a man who went missing on Saturday.

The 34-year-old from Coopernook was last seen in a small boat heading to Landsdowne on the Landsdowne River.

Police say a body was found in the river near Taree about 6.10pm on Sunday and it's believed to be the missing man.

"Initial investigations suggest that the man's death is not suspicious," police said in a statement.
