Man's death in Vic home suspicious: police

A man's death in the Geelong suburb of Bell Park is being treated as suspicious after his de facto partner found his body near the back of the property.

A Victorian man's two-year-old son and his partner were both inside a Geelong home when his body was discovered near the back of the property.

The man, in his 30s, was found dead at the suburban Bell Park home just after 7.30am (AEDT) on Wednesday.

Police have since interviewed the man's de facto partner.

Detective Sergeant Graham Ross would not disclose why police are treating the man's death as suspicious.

"I don't want to go into any of the details that she's given to us," he told reporters.

"She called triple-zero, police have responded."

He said the man's son and his partner were both home when the body was found.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine a cause of death.
