Man's face slashed in Sydney CBD tunnel

A man has been slashed in the face with a knife by another man in a pedestrian tunnel during broad daylight in Sydney's CBD.

A man has allegedly been slashed in the face with a knife by another man who fled the scene on a bike in Sydney's CBD.

The 28-year-old man was walking through a pedestrian tunnel attached to Central Railway Station at Haymarket when he was approached by another man who slashed him in the face about 9.30am on Sunday, police said in a statement.

The injured man suffered facial lacerations and was taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a stable condition.

Detectives have released CCTV images of the alleged attack and are searching for a man described as having an olive complexion, aged in his 20s or 30s with dark hair.

He was last seen wearing an orange high-visibility vest, black long-sleeved hooded jumper, green army style pants and a black baseball cap.
