Maradona caught hitting journalist over 'wink'

Former Argentina Soccer Player and National Team Coach Diego Maradona on Saturday (August 9) was caught on camera hitting a journalist as he left an event in the Argentine capital with his son.

Maradona spotted at the World Cup.

The altercation took place as Maradona left a theatre where he had taken his son, Diego Fernando, to see a children's play on Argentina's Day of the Child.

The 53-year-old reportedly hit out after the reporter winked at his former partnet, Veronica Ojeda, who was in the passenger seat.

Speaking to reporters shortly after the incident, Maradona said he was happy to spending with day with his son.

"He is my gift for the day of the child, this is the first Day of the Child that I am going to spend with my son," he said.

Maradona led Argentina to the World Cup in 1986 and was named the tournament's best player.
